landscapeWe are looking to recruit dynamic, resourceful, creative GPs who have a passion for the transformation of Primary Care and want to develop the skills needed for a more joined up health economy. We can provide you with access to advice, education and training in a specialism of your choice to help you to develop.

We welcome applications from newly qualified GPs and established GPs who are looking for a more varied role or return to work GPs whom we would help to design a more flexible working pattern with you that fits in with your requirements. We have received considerable support for this scheme from the East of England Deanery and are very pleased that it has been accepted as an official “Post CCT Fellowship scheme”.

These posts are the starting point on our journey to embed innovative new ways of working in Primary and Community Care across our locality. The GPPC scheme brings together a mix of working with a surgery in Primary Care, plus a placement of your choice in another local health care setting and also a funded educational session.

castleA structured program of paid learning and professional development will be designed that is personalised to meet your particular interest and career aspirations.

This scheme is versatile in what can be offered and we are able to offer you a fantastic opportunity to provide you with: -

Diversity of clinical and non-clinical work across the working week that can be tailored to your clinical interests and expertise.

A flexible working pattern that fits in with the modern NHS and world we all now live in.

A structured program of paid learning and professional development that is personalized to meet your particular interest and career aspirations.

The full time role would consist of 9 full time sessions with 6 to 7 sessions working in a local GP Practice to give you the security of working in one place or you could decide that you want a variation in the type of patients you would see in either Colchester or Tendring and work across 2 practices. A further 1 to 2 sessions could then be in either a clinical placement in a specialism you are interested in at the local hospitals, with a community provider or hospice for end of life care or non-clinical based around commissioning. The final session would be educational and could be around training, research or attaining a PG qualification. The package is yours to design and we will work with you to set up the placements.

landscapeThese are initially 1 year posts and the successful applicants will be employed on a fixed term contract with the chosen GP Practice.
